On April 15th, Ruth turned 7 months old… hard to believe! The week of her “birthday” she began sitting by herself and also had her first two teeth appear.

Baking cookies with Aunt Melissa
I’m just now getting around to downloading pictures again, and found some fun ones! My sister and brother in law came to visit mid-April and while here, Melissa asked if the kids wanted to make sugar cookies. Of course the said yes, and so the mess began…
Fun times!

New teeth... New Glasses
And this morning, we also noticed a "new" for Ruth too - her first tooth has finally broken through!

Easter
I just downloaded pictures off of our camera and realized I didn’t take very many Easter pictures. And none with Ruth or Jake. I need to get better at this whole “documenting the kids lives” thing!
Here are Emelyn and Isaiah the night before Easter after the “sealed the tomb” with our Resurrection cookies locked inside. Both kids had fun this year beating the pecans, smelling the vinegar and tasting the sugar and salt… especially the sugar!
Jake was sick and Ruth had bad allergy symptoms, so they stayed home Easter morning to sleep while the rest of us went to church. Here are the few pictures I have. Ruth slept all afternoon and as soon as she woke up we went to some friends house to have the traditional Easter dinner and I didn’t take my camera.
I love that they love each other. And that they both love Ruth.
Easter
A few days before Easter, we decorated and dyed boiled eggs. When I first brought the egg dye kit home, I told Emelyn we were going to dye eggs. In all seriousness, she asked “How does that kit kill the eggs?” Before I could answer, she ran to Jake with the kit and exclaimed, “Daddy, tomorrow we’re going to kill eggs with this!” I’m telling you, parenting provides more laughter than I knew was possible!
Here the kids are decorating and “killing” eggs:
Community Easter Egg Hunt
The Wednesday before Easter, we had a community wide Easter Egg Hunt and BBQ at a local park.
Like Isaiah’s forced smile? “CHEESE.”
Ruth stayed nice and warm snuggled in her carseat.
