Garden

A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I tilled up the garden (it's miracle we all still have 10 fingers after watching the kids "hoe" their little section!!) Everyone picked out a 4-pack of plants and we planted them. So far, everything is still alive! We have okra, tomatoes, eggplant and cantaloupe. I plan to finish it off with some green beans soon.
The boys had more fun playing with earthworms than planting. 😁

Ruths First Haircut

After two and a half years, we've finally decided to cut this sweet girl's hair. We cut off about 3 inches but it's still pretty long... And still appears to have some curl to it :)

Easter Party at the park

Today our neighborhood had our annual Easter party and the weather turned out beautiful! Mary does such a good job each year of planning the party, complete with a craft for the kids to take home that focuses on the real meaning of Easter.
Uncle Andrew went with us too!!

Easter Party

Emelyn had her Easter party at school today and I had fun helping hide the eggs then supervising her classmates count the number of eggs they found. Before that though, here is her hair for the day. She always likes trying new hair styles:
And here are some pictures from the hunt. There are 100 Kindergarteners at her school; 20 in her class.
On a side note, Emelyn received the "Eye of the Tiger" award this week at their school for getting a "20 on her DRA test." When I asked her about it, she said her she scored highest of all the other Kindergarteners and that she has to read 2nd grade level books now. Jake and I were/are so impressed with her progress! She is starting to read some small chapter books so we're hoping to start the Little House on the Prairie books this summer. I'm still a little shocked that I have a daughter old enough to be in school let alone read!
