Celebrating and thanking local heroes
Our library's summer theme is about heroes and today we got to thank some local everyday heroes and tour their equipment. Ruth was too scared to go into the vehicles or to talk to the firemen and EMTs. Emelyn asked a lot of questions about how things work and their procedures during emergencies. Isaiah only asked how fast they drive and if they get to break the law and run red lights.

Royals
Tuesday morning we drove to Kansas City to attend a Royals baseball game with my parents. Such a fun, relaxing little break from life!!
Walking for Wheelchairs
Emelyns school raised money for wheelchairs for kids this past month. Together they raised over $13,000! Tyson Foods added to that donation, and as a school, they walked to the Tyson Headquarters from their classrooms to celebrate with some of the employees. The kids sang "Man in the Mirror" as well as their Tyson Tiger song for Tyson.
Princess Night
I just found these pictures on my phone and wanted to put them on here before I deleted them. A couple of weeks ago, Chickfila hosted a princess night complete with carriage rides, fingernail painting, tiaras and pictures with princesses.

Last day of school!!
Today was Emelyns last day of school! Woohoo! It was a field day which she thoroughly enjoyed. To celebrate at home, Mary brought us over a delicious cake that we all enjoyed partaking in... With 6 kids in the house right now, it didn't last long though!!
