'Twas the night before Christmas

Everyone is in bed but me (I'm up taking a shift with this sweet girl:)
A while ago we put these three to bed together after they begged to have a "slumber party:"
It's nights like these that I want to freeze time. We had a special night at our church's candlelight service. Here are the kiddos all dressed up for church:
They each got to hold a candle tonight - fun and scary! On the way home we heard over and over "OOOOO look at THOSE lights!" I love that something as simple as lights awe and amaze at this age. Upon coming home, the kids saw this package that we had placed on the table before leaving for church:
So they opened it and were excited to find new pjs for everyone (daddy even got his long awaited for footed pajamas!)

Then we enjoyed a "supper" of favorite snack foods while watching "It's a Wonderful Life" in pajamas. (Correction, I watched it while the kids danced and twirled in their new jammies while going back for thirds and fourths of Oreos, m&m's, goldfish, cheese and cashews.)
Then some fun snuggles initiated by lots of sugar:
Then we read the Christmas story and finished our Jesse Tree readings and ornaments:

Then off to bed. I have no idea what future Christmas Eve's will look like, but definitely want to remember ones like this. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Fast Lanes

Saturday we went to Fast Lanes to bowl, ride go-carts and eat lunch. Santa was there so the kids (well, not Ruth, she was scared of him) stopped to say hi to him too.

Silver Dollar City

Last Sunday we took a day trip to Branson with some friends to spend the day at Silver Dollar City. Here are some pictures from our day:

To sum up our day, Isaiah loves all things fast and is finally tall enough to ride adult roller coasters and he did so without fear. K and I went right along with him. Emelyn was brave and tried a few faster rides but resorted to playing with her friends. And Ruth? She didn't care for any rides except the horse carousel.

Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree tonight and this little lady is quite in awe of it... So many pretties!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
